Mindful Thought


We’re focusing on being mindful of our thoughts and how our thoughts impact our lives. This week, we are being mindful just by becoming aware of that mental chatter.

Have you ever stopped and just taken inventory of all the internal dialogue that goes on when you’re not even paying attention? There can be some really dis-empowering thoughts going on in there. You may find yourself saying things like, “I really can’t do that,” or “No one’s going to listen to my anyway,” or “Who do I think I am to be able to do such-and such?” But the truth is all those are just dis-empowering thoughts that may be manifesting in your world.

The first step in beginning to shift our internal dialogue is just becoming aware of it. When we become aware of these dis-empowering contacts that we have in our brain, then we can begin to get clear about what’s causing that dis-empowering conversation and then begin to shift it into more empowering words that can shape our lives in a completely different way.

So this week be mindful of your chatter. Take note of any type of negative mental chatter that continues to go on in your brain. Write it down. And then really begin to ask yourself, “Is that the truth?” Really, it’s just our point of view and our own dis-empowering statements about ourselves and not necessarily the truth.

Remember, small action steps lead to big changes that ultimately improve your quality of life. Change your mind, shift your heart, transform your life.
